Resident Director for Canada Hall

Hello! My name is Kari Kuykendall and I am the Graduate Resident Director for Canada Hall. I was raised in the small town of Penn Valley/Grass Valley, CA. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Health Ecology and a minor in Psychology. Currently, I am pursuing my Masters degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration (with a much anticipated graduation in May 2009!). In my spare time I choose to hang out with my friends, watch movies, do jigsaw puzzles, read, and relax.

As the Graduate Resident Director for Canada Hall one of my goals this year is to further assist our upper-class residents with their academic, career, and life goals. The Canada Hall Staff plans to accomplish such assistance through passive programming while being a constant role model and resource for each student. Another goal of mine is to continue to make Canada Hall one of the strongest communities on campus. Our team hopes to achieve this success through creating meaningful relationships with each resident, providing a safe space to learn, develop, and grow while having fun doing so! This includes outreaching to our community to provide our Annual Safe Trick or Treat program in October. The little ghosts and goblins have an incredible Halloween experience safely trick or treating throughout the floors of Canada Hall. This program is a huge success with the volunteerism and dedication of each year’s Canada Hall residents!

Canada Hall is a fantastic place to live, make friends, and develop the skills to succeed in today’s world. Please feel welcomed to stop by the front desk to chat with some of our staff members or to drop by my office (next to the front desk) to raise a concern or ask advice.
